Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie

This giant chocolate chip cookie is baked to golden perfection in a 12-inch cast iron skillet—crispy on the edges, soft and gooey in the center. Perfect for sharing and even better with a scoop of ice cream on top!

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C)
  2. Prepare the Wet Ingredients:
    In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth and well combined.
    Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until fully incorporated.
  3. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
    In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
    Be careful not to overmix.
  4. Fold in the Chocolate Chips:
    Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  5. Prepare the Skillet:
    Grease the 12 -inch cast iron skillet with a little bit of butter or non – stick cooking spray.
  6. Press the Dough:
    Press the cookie dough evenly into the prepared skillet, spreading it to the edges.
  7. Bake:
    Bake in the preheated oven for 20 – 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still slightly soft. The cookie will continue to cook a bit in the hot skillet once removed from the oven.
  8. Cool and Serve:
    Let the skillet cookie cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the cookie to set and makes it easier to cut.
