Charred Grapefruit Brown Derby

Ingredients
2 ounces of bourbon
1 ounce of fresh grapefruit juice
1/2 ounce of honey simple syrup (made with equal parts hot water and honey, whisked until fully combined and cooled)

You will also need a SIGNATUREseries Cast Iron Skillet.
Instructions
  1. Make the honey simple syrup by whisking equal parts hot water and honey until fully combined. Let it cool.
  2. Place thin slices of grapefruit onto a cast iron skillet over medium to medium-high heat and allow the bottom to develop a beautiful char. Transfer the charred grapefruit slices onto a plate to use as a garnish later.
  3. Place your grapefruit halves onto the skillet to char before juicing.
  4. Combine 2 ounces of bourbon, 1 ounce of fresh grapefruit juice, and 1/2 ounce of honey simple syrup in a shaker. Fill the shaker with ice.
  5. Shake until fully chilled.
  6. Strain the cocktail into a glass and garnish with your charred grapefruit slices, and enjoy your cocktail.
