Charred Grapefruit Brown Derby
Ingredients
2 ounces of bourbon1 ounce of fresh grapefruit juice
1/2 ounce of honey simple syrup (made with equal parts hot water and honey, whisked until fully combined and cooled)
You will also need a SIGNATUREseries Cast Iron Skillet.
Instructions
- Make the honey simple syrup by whisking equal parts hot water and honey until fully combined. Let it cool.
- Place thin slices of grapefruit onto a cast iron skillet over medium to medium-high heat and allow the bottom to develop a beautiful char. Transfer the charred grapefruit slices onto a plate to use as a garnish later.
- Place your grapefruit halves onto the skillet to char before juicing.
- Combine 2 ounces of bourbon, 1 ounce of fresh grapefruit juice, and 1/2 ounce of honey simple syrup in a shaker. Fill the shaker with ice.
- Shake until fully chilled.
- Strain the cocktail into a glass and garnish with your charred grapefruit slices, and enjoy your cocktail.
